✧ Indeed, Allah, Exalted is He, spoke privately with Musa in one hundred and forty thousand words over three days, all of them counsels. When Musa heard the speech of human beings, he despised them because of what had entered his ears from the speech of the Lord. Among what He privately said to him was: 'O Musa, those who put on airs for Me do not do so with anything like renunciation of the world, and those who seek nearness to Me do not draw near with anything like piety from what I have forbidden them, and the worshippers do not worship Me with anything like weeping out of fear of Me.' Musa said: 'O God of all creation, O Master of the Day of Judgment, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, what have You prepared for them? What have You rewarded them?' He said: 'O Musa, as for those who renounce the world, I grant them My Paradise; they will settle wherever they wish. As for those who are pious from what I have forbidden them, there is no servant who meets Me on the Day of Resurrection except that I scrutinize his account and question him about what was in his hands, except the pious ones. I am shy of them and honor them, so I enter them into Paradise without reckoning. As for those who weep from fear of Me, they have the highest company; they will not be shared in it.'
