✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ sent me to Yemen, and I said: “O Messenger of God, I am a young man, and I do not know how to judge.” The Messenger of God ﷺ placed his hand between my shoulders and said: “God will guide your heart and make your tongue steadfast.” ʿAlī said: “I did not fail in judging between any two people until I sat in this seat of mine.”

machine translationAs for Abū al-Bakhtarī, his hearing from ʿAlī is not sound (ṣaḥīḥ); but we mentioned some of his narration in order to show that he narrated from ʿAlī, and that he did not hear from ʿAlī.
