حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ قَالَ: نَا نُوحُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حُوَيٍّ السَّكْسَكِيُّ الْحِمْصِيُّ قَالَ: نَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ:

أَتَى جِبْرِيلُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ بِتَبُوكَ، فَقَالَ: يَا مُحَمَّدُ، اشْهَدْ جِنَازَةَ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْمُزَنِيِّ، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، وَنَزَلَ جِبْرِيلُ فِي سَبْعِينَ أَلْفًا مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ، فَوَضَعَ جَنَاحَهُ الْأَيْمَنَ عَلَى الْجِبَالِ فَتَوَاضَعَتْ، وَوَضَعَ جَنَاحَهُ الْأَيْسَرَ عَلَى الْأَرَضِينَ فَتَوَاضَعْنَ، حَتَّى نَظَرَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ، فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَجِبْرِيلُ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ: يَا جِبْرِيلُ، بِمَا بَلَغَ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْمُزَنِيُّ هَذِهِ الْمَنْزِلَةَ ؟ قَالَ: بِقِرَاءَةِ قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا وَمَاشِيًا وَرَاكِبًا

✧ Gabriel came to the Messenger of God ﷺ while he was at Tabūk and said: "O Muhammad, attend the funeral of Muʿāwiya b. Muʿāwiya al-Muzanī." The Messenger of God ﷺ went out, and Gabriel descended with seventy thousand angels. He placed his right wing upon the mountains and they were humbled, and he placed his left wing upon the lands and they were humbled, until he looked upon Makkah and Madinah. The Messenger of God ﷺ, Gabriel, and the angels prayed over him. When he finished, he said: "O Gabriel, by what did Muʿāwiya b. Muʿāwiya al-Muzanī attain this rank?" He said: "By reciting 'Say: He is God, One' while standing, sitting, walking, and riding."
