✧ Abu Saʿid al-Khudri was standing praying toward one of the pillars of the mosque, and a man from the family of ʿUqbah b. Abi Muʿayt passed in front of him, so he prevented him. He came again, so he pushed him in the chest, and the young man became angry. Then he went to Marwan b. al-Hakam and complained about Abu Saʿid. Abu Saʿid then came to him, and Marwan said to him: What is the matter with your nephew that he complains about you? Abu Saʿid said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'When one of you prays, let him pray toward a sutrah. If someone passes in front of him, let him prevent him. If he returns, let him fight him, for he is a devil.'
