✧ ʿAbd Allah b. ʿUmar and Abu Hurayrah met, and I was sitting with them while I was a boy, and he said: O Abu ʿAbd al-Rahman, the people claim that I lie about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Which land would carry me and which sky would shade me if I did? He replied: You are better than that. Then Abu Hurayrah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'If the people were to take one valley and the Ansar another valley, I would take the valley of the Ansar.' Ibn ʿUmar said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say that. And Abu Hurayrah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Were it not for the Hijrah, I would have been one of the Ansar.' He said: You spoke the truth; I heard him say that from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. And he did not narrate anything that day except that he confirmed it. He said: And I heard Abu Hurayrah say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'I will come to Hell and strike its gate, and it will be opened for me, and I will enter and praise Allah with praises such as no one before me has praised Him, nor will anyone after me. Then I will bring out from it whoever said "La ilaha illa Allah" sincerely. Then people from Quraysh will come to me and be attributed to me, and I will recognize their lineage but not their faces, and I will leave them in the Fire.' He said: And I heard Abu Hurayrah say: My beloved ﷺ enjoined upon me three things that I have not abandoned since I parted from him, nor will I abandon them until I meet him: fasting three days of every month, the Duha prayer, and not sleeping except after performing Witr.
