✧ Suraqah b. Malik stood up to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, tell me about our deeds that we do—are we taken to account for them at the outset, good for good and evil for evil, or is it something that the divine decrees have already preceded and the pens have dried upon?' He said: 'O Suraqah, the divine decrees have already preceded and the pens have dried upon.' He said: 'Then why do we act, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Act, O Suraqah, for every doer is facilitated for what he was created for.' He said: 'O Suraqah, now you strive.'
