حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو مُوسَى الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
اقْتَدُوا بِاللَّذَيْنِ مِنْ بَعْدِي: أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ

سألت أبي عن حديث رواه الثوري عن عبد الملك بن عمير عن هلال مولى ربعي عن ربعي عن حذيفة مرفوعا اقتدوا باللذين من بعدي ورواه زائدة وغيره عن عبد الملك عن ربعي عن حذيفة مرفوعا أيهما أصح قال ما قال الثوري زاد رجلا وجود الحديث
machine translationI asked my father about a hadith narrated by al-Thawrī from ʿAbd al-Malik b. ʿUmayr, from Hilāl, the freed slave of Ribʿī, from Ribʿī, from Ḥudhayfah, raised to the Prophet (marfūʿ): "Follow the two who come after me." Zāʾidah and others narrated it from ʿAbd al-Malik, from Ribʿī, from Ḥudhayfah, raised to the Prophet (marfūʿ). Which of the two is more authentic (aṣaḥḥ)? He said: What al-Thawrī said, for he added a man and transmitted the hadith well.
