حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الصَّقْرِ السُّكَّرِيُّ قَالَ: نَا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ: نَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ:

ذَكَرَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ سَبْعِينَ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ قَالَ: كَانُوا إِذَا جَنَّهُمُ اللَّيْلُ آوَوْا إِلَى مُعَلِّمٍ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَيَبِيتُونَ مَعَهُ يَدْرُسُونَ الْقُرْآنَ، فَإِذَا أَصْبَحُوا فَمَنْ كَانَتْ عِنْدَهُ قُوَّةٌ أَصَابَ مِنَ الْحَطَبِ، وَاسْتَعْذَبَ مِنَ الْمَاءِ، وَمَنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ سَعَةٌ أَصَابُوا الشَّاةَ فَأَصْلَحُوهَا، فَكَانَتْ تُصْبِحُ مُعَلَّقَةً بِحُجَرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ. فَلَمَّا أُصِيبَ خُبَيْبٌ بَعَثَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: فَكَانَ فِيهِمْ خَالِي حَرَامُ بْنُ مِلْحَانَ، فَأَتَوْا عَلَى حَيٍّ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ قَالَ: فَقَالَ حَرَامٌ لِأَمِيرِهِمْ: أَلَا أُخْبِرُ هَؤُلَاءِ أَنَّا لَسْنَا إِيَّاهُمْ نُرِيدُ، فَيُخَلُّوا وُجُوهَنَا ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، فَأَتَاهُمْ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ ذَاكَ، فَاسْتَقْبَلَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ بِرُمْحٍ فَأَنْفَذَهُمْ بِهِ، فَلَمَّا وَجَدَ حَرَامٌ مَسَّ الرُّمْحِ فِي جَوْفِهِ قَالَ: اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، فُزْتُ وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ قَالَ: فَانْطَوَوْا عَلَيْهِمْ، فَمَا بَقِيَ مِنْهُمْ مُخْبِرٌ. قَالَ: " فَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَجَدَ عَلَى سَرِيَّةٍ وَجْدَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ "، قَالَ أَنَسٌ: لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كُلَّمَا صَلَّى الْغَدَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ يَدْعُو عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمَّا كَانَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ أَتَى أَبُو طَلْحَةَ يَقُولُ لِي: هَلْ لَكَ فِي قَاتِلِ حَرَامٍ ؟ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: مَا بَالُهُ ؟ فَعَلَ اللهُ بِهِ وَفَعَلَ، فَقَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ: لَا تَفْعَلْ، فَقَدْ أَسْلَمَ.

✧ Anas b. Malik mentioned seventy of the Ansar. He said: When night fell upon them, they would go to a teacher in Madinah and spend the night with him studying the Quran. Then in the morning, whoever had strength would gather firewood and draw fresh water, and whoever had means would get a sheep and prepare it; so it would be hanging in the rooms of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ by morning. When Khubayb was killed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent them. He said: Among them was my maternal uncle Haram b. Milhan. They came upon a clan of Banu Sulaym. He said: Haram said to their leader, "Shall I inform these people that we are not after them, so that they let us pass?" He said, "Yes." So he went to them and told them that. A man from among them met him with a spear and pierced him through. When Haram felt the spear in his belly, he said, "Allahu akbar! I have won, by the Lord of the Kaaba!" He said: They closed in on them, and none of them remained to report. He said: "I never saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ grieve over any expedition as he grieved over them." Anas said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, every time he prayed the dawn prayer, raise his hands supplicating against them. Later, Abu Talhah came to me and said: "Do you know what happened to the killer of Haram?" I said, "What about him? May Allah do such-and-such to him." Abu Talhah said, "Do not say that, for he has accepted Islam."
