حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي صَفْوَانَ الثَّقَفِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ أَبُو غَسَّانَ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ الْجَهْمِ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ، قَالَ: نَا خُزَاعِيُّ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، قَالَ:
كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ، فَحَدَّثَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: لَا تَخْذِفُوا؛ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يُصَادُ بِهَا صَيْدٌ، وَلَا يُنْكَأُ بِهِ عَدُوٌّ، وَلَكِنَّهَا تَكْسِرُ السِّنَّ، وَتَفْقَأُ الْعَيْنَ

✧ We were sitting with 'Abd Allah b. Mughaffal, and he narrated to us that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Do not throw pebbles [with the fingertips], for no game is taken thereby and no enemy is struck down thereby, but it breaks a tooth and puts out an eye.'
