حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ الْجَزَرِيِّ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:
فَادَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أُسَارَى بَدْرٍ وَكَانَ فِدَاءُ كُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ أَرْبَعَةَ آلَافٍ، وَقَتَلَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ أَبِي مُعَيْطٍ، قَتَلَهُ قَبْلَ الْفِدَاءِ، فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَتَلَهُ صَبْرًا، فَقَالَ: مَنْ لِلصِّبْيَةِ يَا مُحَمَّدُ ؟ قَالَ: " النَّارُ
Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ ransomed the prisoners of Badr, and the ransom for each one of them was four thousand. He killed 'Uqbah b. Abi Mu'ayt before the ransom. 'Ali b. Abi Talib stood before him and killed him in retaliation. He said: 'Who will care for the children, O Muhammad?' He said: 'The Fire.'
