حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْخَفَّافُ الْمِصْرِيُّ قَالَ: نَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ قَالَ: نَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ النَّخَعِيِّ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَهَا عَنِ الْأَوْعِيَةِ الَّتِي نَهَى عَنْهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ: نَهَى عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ. قُلْتُ: فَمَا هَذِهِ الْجِرَارُ الْخُضْرُ، هِيَ الْحَنْتَمُ ؟ قَالَتْ: لَا، هِيَ الْجِرَارُ الْحُمْرُ، كَانَ يُحْمَلُ فِيهَا زِفْتٌ، وَكَانَ يُحْمَلُ فِيهَا خَمْرٌ مِنْ مِصْرَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ، فَنَهَى عَنْهَا

✧ He asked her about the vessels which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade. She said, “He forbade al-dubbāʾ, al-ḥantam, al-naqīr, and al-muzaffat.” I said, “What are these green jars—are they al-ḥantam?” She said, “No, they are the red jars. Pitch used to be carried in them, and wine used to be carried in them from Egypt to Madinah, so he forbade them.”
