وَبِهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
كَيْفَ أَنْتَ يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو إِذَا كُنْتَ فِي حُثَالَةٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ ؟ قَالَ: وَذَاكَ مَا هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: " ذَلِكَ إِذَا مَرِجَتْ أَمَانَاتُهُمْ وَعُهُودُهُمْ فَصَارُوا هَكَذَا "، وَشَبَّكَ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِهِ، قَالَ: فَكَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: " تَعْمَلُ بِمَا تَعْرِفُ وَتَدَعُ مَا تُنْكِرُ، وَتَعْمَلُ بِخَاصَّةِ نَفْسِكَ، وَتَدَعُ عَوَامَّ النَّاسِ
Translation
Chain of narrators
- Rasūl Allāh ﷺ
✧ How will you be, O 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr, when you are among the dregs of people?" He said: "And what is that, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "That is when their trusts and covenants become confused and they become like this," and he interlaced his fingers. He said: "So what should I do, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Act according to what you know, and leave what you disapprove of; attend to your own self, and leave the common people."
