حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ: نَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ عَوْذِ اللهِ الْقُرَشِيُّ قَالَ: نَا عَوْفٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ النَّاجِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ:

قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِبَيْتٍ فِيهِ نَفَرٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ، فَأَخَذَ بِعِضَادَتَيِ الْبَابِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: هَلْ فِي الْبَيْتِ إِلَّا قُرَشِيٌّ ؟ قَالُوا: لَا، إِلَّا ابْنُ أُخْتٍ لَنَا، فَقَالَ: " ابْنُ أُخْتِ الْقَوْمِ مِنْهُمْ "، ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ لَا يَزَالُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ، مَا إِذَا اسْتُرْحِمُوا رَحِمُوا، وَإِذَا حَكَمُوا عَدَلُوا، وَإِذَا قَسَمُوا أَقْسَطُوا، فَمَنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُمْ فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ، لَا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهُ صَرْفٌ وَلَا عَدْلٌ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood at a house in which there were a group of Quraysh, and he took hold of the two doorposts, then said, "Is there anyone in the house except a Qurashi?" They said, "No, except a nephew of ours." He said, "The nephew of a people is one of them." Then he said, "Indeed, this matter will continue to be in Quraysh as long as, when they are asked for mercy, they show mercy; when they judge, they are just; and when they divide, they are equitable. Whoever of them does not do that, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people. Neither repentance nor ransom will be accepted from him."
