حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ
أَنَّ عُمَرَ، خَرَجَ يَسْتَسْقِي، وَخَرَجَ بِالْعَبَّاسِ مَعَهُ يَسْتَسْقِي، فَيَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا إِذَا قُحِطْنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ نَبِيِّنَا تَوَسَّلْنَا إِلَيْكَ بِنَبِيِّكَ، اللَّهُمَّ وَإِنَّا نَتَوَسَّلُ إِلَيْكَ بِعَمِّ نَبِيِّكَ، ﷺ
Translation

✧ Umar went out to pray for rain, and he brought al-Abbas with him to pray for rain. He said: 'O Allah, when we suffered drought in the time of our Prophet, we sought intercession through Your Prophet. O Allah, now we seek intercession through the uncle of Your Prophet ﷺ.'
