حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ: نَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو كَعْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، صَاحِبُ الْحَرِيرِ قَالَ: نَا شَهْرُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ قَالَ:

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ، وَبَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهَا حِجَابٌ، فَسَمِعْتُهَا تَقُولُ: كَانَ أَكْثَرُ دُعَاءِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ: يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ قَالَ: " مَا مِنْ آدَمِيٍّ إِلَّا وَقَلْبُهُ بَيْنَ إِصْبَعَيْنِ مِنْ أَصَابِعِ الرَّحْمَنِ، إِذَا شَاءَ أَزَاغَهُ، وَإِذَا شَاءَ هَدَاهُ

Translation

✧ I entered upon Umm Salamah in Madinah, and between me and her was a veil. I heard her say: The most frequent supplication of the Prophet ﷺ was: ‘O Turner of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.’ He said: ‘There is no human being except that his heart is between two fingers of the fingers of the Most Merciful. If He wills, He causes it to deviate, and if He wills, He guides it.’
