✧ His grandfather ʿUmayr b. Ḥabīb b. Khumāsha – who had reached puberty during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ – gave a bequest to his children, saying: “O my sons, beware of sitting with fools, for sitting with them is a disease. Whoever bears patiently with a fool is pleased, and whoever answers him regrets. Whoever does not accept the little that a fool offers will accept much [harm]. When any of you wants to command good or forbid evil, let him prepare himself to patiently endure harm and trust in the reward from God, mighty and majestic, for whoever trusts in the reward from God will not be harmed by the touch of injury.”
