Translation

✧ If they appoint Abū Bakr as successor, they will find him a submissive, trustworthy, ascetic man in this world, desirous of the Hereafter. If they put ʿUmar in command, they will find him strong and trustworthy; no blame of any blamer affects him in [matters of] God. If they put ʿAlī in command—and I do not think they will do it—they will find him a guide, rightly guided, who will take them along the straight path.
