حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو طَلْحَةَ مُوسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْخُزَاعِيُّ قَالَ: نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ قَالَ: نَا وُهَيْبُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ: نَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو
أَنَّ رَجُلًا لَبِسَ حُلَّةً مِثْلَ حُلَّةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، ثُمَّ أَتَى أَهْلَ بَيْتٍ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ: النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَمَرَنِي أَيَّ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ شِئْتُ اسْتَطْلَعْتُ، فَقَالُوا: عَهْدُنَا بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ لَا يَأْمُرُ بِالْفَوَاحِشِ، قَالَ: فَأَعَدُّوا لَهُ بَيْتًا، وَأَرْسَلُوا رَسُولًا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ، فَأَخْبَرَهُ، فَقَالَ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ: " انْطَلِقَا إِلَيْهِ، فَإِنْ وَجَدْتُمَاهُ حَيًّا فَاقْتُلَاهُ، ثُمَّ حَرِّقَاهُ بِالنَّارِ، وَإِنْ وَجَدْتُمَاهُ قَدْ كُفِيتُمَاهُ فَحَرِّقَاهُ، وَلَا أَرَاكُمَا إِلَّا وَقَدْ كُفِيتُمَاهُ "، فَأَتَيَاهُ فَوَجَدَاهُ قَدْ خَرَجَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يَبُولُ، فَلَدَغَتْهُ حَيَّةٌ أَفْعَى، فَمَاتَ، فَحَرَّقَاهُ بِالنَّارِ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَأَخْبَرَاهُ الْخَبَرَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ

✧ A man wore a garment like the garment of the Prophet ﷺ, then he came to a household in Madinah and said: The Prophet ﷺ has commanded me to inspect whichever household I wish. They said: Our knowledge of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is that he does not command indecencies. He said: So they prepared a room for him and sent a messenger to the Messenger of Allah, informing him. He said to Abu Bakr and Umar: "Go to him; if you find him alive, kill him, then burn him with fire, and if you find that he has already been dealt with, then burn him. I think you will find that he has already been dealt with." They went and found that he had gone out at night to urinate and was bitten by a viper and died. They burned him with fire, then returned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him of the news. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever lies about me deliberately, let him take his seat in the Fire."
