Translation

✧ I said to Abū Jaʿfar Muḥammad b. ʿAlī b. al-Ḥusayn: “May I be your ransom, what do you think of this intercession that the people of Iraq talk about? Is it true?” He said: “Intercession for what?” He said: “The intercession of Muḥammad ﷺ.” He said: “True, by God. By God, my uncle Muḥammad b. ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥanafiyyah narrated to me, from ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib, that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: ‘I will intercede for my community until my Lord, Mighty and Majestic, calls me and says: “Are you satisfied, O Muḥammad?” I will say: “Yes, I am satisfied.”’”
