حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ، قَالَ: نَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِهَابٍ قَالَ: نَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجُرَشِيُّ قَالَ: نَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ أَبِي الْأَخْضَرِ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ:
دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فُسْطَاطَهُ فِي خِلَافَةِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: إِنِّي أَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونَ إِنَّمَا أَخَّرَكَ اللهُ لِتَكُونَ شَهِيدًا عَلَى هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ. قَالَ: فَإِنِّي أَشْهَدُ أَنَّهُمْ أَمْسَوْا وَأَصْبَحُوا مُخَالِفِينَ لِمَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَهُمْ، لِأَنَّهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ، وَفِي الصَّلَاةِ تَأْخِيرٌ

✧ I entered upon Anas b. Malik in his tent during the caliphate of 'Abd al-Malik and said to him: I hope Allah has kept you back so that you may be a witness over this community. He said: I bear witness that they have gone to bed and risen opposing those before them, because they pray, but there is delay in the prayer.
