حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: نَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو شَيْبَةَ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ خَيْرٍ قَالَ:
كُنَّا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا عَلِيٌّ فِي آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ، فَقَالَ: أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنِ الْوِتْرِ ؟ فَاجْتَمَعْنَا إِلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ " أَوْتَرَ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ، ثُمَّ أَوْتَرَ وَسَطَهُ، ثُمَّ أَوْتَرَ هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ، فَقُبِضَ وَهُوَ يُوتِرُ هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ
Translation

✧ We were in the mosque when 'Ali came out to us at the end of the night and said: 'Where is the one asking about the witr?' We gathered around him, and he said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed witr at the beginning of the night, then he performed witr in its middle, then he performed witr at this hour. And he passed away while performing witr at this hour.'
