حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: نَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ قَالَ: نَا أُسَيْدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ. عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ:

بَعَثَ بِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى يَهُودِيٍّ، أَسْتَسْلِفُ لَهُ إِلَى الْمَيْسَرَةِ، فَقَالَ: أَيُّ مَيْسَرَةٍ ؟ هُوَ الَّذِي لَا أَصْلَ لَهُ وَلَا فَرْعَ. فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ، فَقَالَ: كَذَبَ عَدُوُّ اللهِ، أَمَا لَوْ أَعْطَانَا لَأَدَّيْنَا إِلَيْهِ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to a Jew to borrow from him on credit until a time of ease. He said: "What time of ease? He is the one who has neither root nor branch." I returned to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him. He said: "The enemy of Allah has lied. If he had given to us, we would have repaid him."
