حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ قَالَ: نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْجُعْفِيُّ قَالَ: نَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ ظُهَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:

شَكَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْأَرَقَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِذَا أَوَيْتَ إِلَى فِرَاشِكَ فَقُلِ: اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَمَا أَظَلَّتْ، وَرَبَّ الْأَرَضِينَ السَّبْعِ وَمَا أَقَلَّتْ، وَرَبَّ الرِّيَاحِ وَمَا أَذْرَتْ، كُنْ لِي جَارًا مِنْ شَرِّ خَلْقِكَ

✧ Khalid b. al-Walid complained to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about insomnia at night. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: "When you go to your bed, say: O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and what they shade, Lord of the seven earths and what they carry, Lord of the winds and what they scatter, be for me a protector from the evil of Your creation."
