حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ أَبُو يَحْيَى صَاعِقَةُ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الشِّبَامِيُّ عَنْ عَمَّارٍ الدُّهْنِيِّ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ قَالَ:
كَانَ أَبِي قَدْ تَرَكَ الصَّلَاةَ مَعَنَا. فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: مَا لَكَ يَا أَبَةِ تَرَكْتَ الصَّلَاةَ مَعَنَا ؟ قَالَ: لِأَنَّكُمْ تُخِفُّونَ، قُلْتُ: فَأَيْنَ قَوْلُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ: إِنَّ فِيكُمُ الضَّعِيفَ وَالْكَبِيرَ وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ ؟. فَقَالَ: قَدْ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ. وَكَانَ يَمْكُثُ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ

✧ My father had stopped praying with us. I said to him: “What is the matter with you, O father, that you have stopped praying with us?” He said: “Because you make it too brief.” I said: “Then where is the saying of the Prophet ﷺ: ‘Among you are the weak, the elderly, and the one with a need’?” He said: “I heard ‘Abd Allah b. Mas‘ud say that.” And he would remain long in bowing and prostration.
