✧ Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Sadaqa

وَبِهِ: حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ. عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

ضُمُّوا إِلَيْكُمْ فَوَاشِيَكُمْ وَأَنْفُسَكُمْ حِينَ تَجِبُ الشَّمْسُ إِلَى أَنْ تَذْهَبَ فَحْمَةُ الْعِشَاءِ، فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْحِينِ، وَغَلِّقُوا أَبْوَابَكُمْ، وَأَطْفِئُوا مَصَابِيحَكُمْ، فَإِنَّ الْفُوَيْسِقَةَ تُضْرِمُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ، وَخَمِّرُوا آنِيَتَكُمْ، وَلَوْ أَنْ يَعْرُضَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى إِنَائِهِ بِعُودٍ، فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَفْتَحُ بَابًا، وَلَا يَكْشِفُ غِطَاءً

Translation

✧ Bring your flocks and yourselves indoors when the sun sets until the darkness of the night has passed, for the devil emerges at that time. Shut your doors, extinguish your lamps, for the little mischief-maker may set the house ablaze. Cover your vessels, even if by placing a stick across them, for the devil does not open a door nor uncover a cover.
