عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ:
شَكَوْتُ إِلَى النَّبِىِّ ﷺ أَرَقًا أَصَابَنِى. قَالَ: «قُلْ: اللَّهُمَّ غَارَتِ النُّجُومُ، وَهَدَأَتِ الْعُيُونُ، وَأَنْتَ حَىُّ قَيُّومٌ، لَا تَأخُذُكَ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ، يَا حَىُّ يَا قَيُّومُ أهْدئ لَيْلِى، وَأَنِمْ عَيْنِى». فَقُلْتُهَا، فَأَذْهَبَ الله عَنِى مَا كُنْتُ أَجِدُ.
Translation
Chain of narrators
- Zayd b. Thābit
✧ I complained to the Prophet ﷺ of insomnia that had afflicted me. He said: "Say: O Allah, the stars have set, the eyes have become still, and You are the Living, the Self-Subsisting; neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes You. O Living One, O Self-Subsisting One, calm my night and make my eye sleep." So I said it, and Allah ﷻ removed from me what I had been experiencing.
