عَنْ عكرمةَ قال قال عمر بن الخطابِ

ليس الوصل أن تَصِلَ من وَصَلَك، ذَلِك القِصَاصُ، ولكن الوصلَ أن تَصِل مَنْ قَطَعَك

Translation

It is not joining of ties of kinship that you join with those who join with you: that is equity. Rather, joining the ties of kinship is when you join with those who sever them with you.
