A woman entered the house of ʿĀʾishah and prayed beside the house of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while she was healthy, and she did not raise her head until she died. ʿĀʾishah said: "Praise be to Allah, who gives life and causes death. This is indeed a lesson for me concerning my brother ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Bakr. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān had lain down to sleep at midday; they went to wake him and found that he had died. Suspicion entered ʿĀʾishah's heart that something had been done to him, or that haste had been shown with him, and that he had been buried while alive. So she saw that it was a lesson for her, and what had been in her heart went away."
