Machine translation, not reviewed

He said: I was with Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal, and with him was al-Shaqīqī, who was discussing with him the manners of ʿAbdullāh b. al-Mubārak. He said: I heard ʿAbdullāh b. al-Mubārak say: "Whoever is careless about concealment, his tongue is released to speak of the faults of his own self, and so people are spared his evil." He said: Aḥmad recoiled from his place and said: "Glory be to God! Are we to be careless about concealment?"
