أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، أَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، نَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ الشَّهِيدِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ،
قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ فِي يَوْمٍ حَارٍّ، فَوَجَدَ فِي وَجْهِيَ التَّعَبَ، فَقَالَ: " يَا جَارِيَةُ، هَاتِي لِحَبِيبٍ غَدَاءً، هَاتِي هَاتِي " حَتَّى قَالَ ذَلِكَ مِرَارًا، قُلْتُ: لَا أُرِيدُ، قَالَ: " هَاتِي ". فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ بِهِ، قُلْتُ: لَا أُرِيدُهُ، قَالَ: " لُقْمَةً، وَأَنْتَ بِالْخِيَارِ " فَلَمَّا أَكَلْتُ لُقْمَةً نَشَطْتُ فَأَكَلَتُ
