He said: al-Ḥasan b. ʿAlī b. ʿAffān said: Ḥusn b. ʿAṭiyyah narrated to us, he said: Qaṭarī al-Khashshāb narrated to us, from Yazīd b. al-Barāʾ b. ʿĀzib, from his father, who said: I entered upon the Prophet ﷺ, and he welcomed me and took my hand. Then he said: "O Barāʾ, do you know why I took your hand?" I said: No, O Prophet of God. He said: "No Muslim meets another Muslim and is glad to see him, welcomes him, and takes his hand, except that their sins fall away from between them as the leaves fall from a tree." And we have narrated from al-Shaʿbī that he said: "When the Companions of Muḥammad ﷺ met, they shook hands, and when they returned from a journey, they embraced one another." And we have narrated from Abū Dharr, concerning the Prophet's ﷺ shaking hands with him, he said: "One day he sent for me, and when I came he embraced me, and that was better and better."
