Notes

machine translationSufyān b. ʿUyaynah also narrated it, from Shaqīq. I read in the Kitāb al-Gharībayn, from Abū Bakr, meaning al-Duraydī, who said in the explanation of his saying: "Peace be upon you" there are three aspects. It is said that its meaning is: peace be upon you and with you. And it is said that its meaning is: Allah is over you, that is, over your protection. And it is said that its meaning is: we are at peace with you.
