أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَا: أنا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، أَخْبَرَنِي غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ مِمَّنْ لَقِيَ الْوَفْدَ، وَذَكَرَ أَبَا نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ،
أَنَّ وَفْدَ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ، قَالَ: وَلَقِيَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ أَشَجَّ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ، فَقَالَ: " إِنَّ فِيكَ خَصْلَتَيْنِ يُحِبُّهُمَا اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ: الْحِلْمُ، وَالْأَنَاةُ "
