أَخْبَرَنَا الْإِمَامُ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ، أنا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ زَاهِرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، نا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، أنا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، نا يُونُسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ،
قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ: " يَا مَعْشَرَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، اسْتَحْيُوا مِنَ اللهِ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنِّي لَأَظَلُّ حِينَ أَذْهَبُ إِلَى الْغَائِطِ فِي الْفَضَاءِ مُتَقَنِّعًا بِثَوْبِي اسْتِحْيَاءً مِنَ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ "
