machine translationAbū ʿAbdillāh al-Ḥāfiẓ informed us: Muḥammad b. ʿAbdillāh al-Junayd informed me, he said: I heard my grandfather al-ʿAbbās b. Ḥamzah say: I heard Dhū al-Nūn b. Ibrāhīm
Machine translation, not reviewed
He said: "Whoever knows his Lord finds the taste of servitude and the delight of remembrance and obedience. He is with the people in his body, yet he is apart from them through his concerns and thoughts." And with his chain of transmission he said: I heard Dhū al-Nūn al-Miṣrī say: The knower (ʿārif) is made independent of need through his Lord. So whoever is made free of need of other than Him, his delight is in Him, his resting at His courtyard, and he finds intimacy in Him.
