أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِئُ، أَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، نا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، نا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ:
أَنَّ جَابِرًا قَالَ: " نَحَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، يَعْنِي فِي حَجَّتِهِ ثَلَاثًا وَسِتِّينَ، وَأَعْطَى عَلِيًّا فَنَحَرَ مَا بَقِيَ وَأَشْرَكَهُ فِي هَدْيِهِ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ مِنْ كُلِّ بَدَنَةٍ بِبَضْعَةٍ، فَجُعِلَ فِي قِدْرٍ فَأَكَلَا مِنْ لَحْمِهَا وَشَرِبَا مِنْ مَرَقِهَا " أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَرُوِّينَا عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ: " أَفْضَلُ الْحَجِّ الْعَجُّ وَالثَّجُّ ". الْعَجُّ ارْتِفَاعُ أَصْوَاتِهِمْ بِالتَّلْبِيَةِ، وَالثَّجُّ صَبُّ الدَّمِ

Jābir said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ slaughtered, meaning during his pilgrimage, sixty-three camels, and he gave ʿAlī (the knife), so he slaughtered what remained, and he made him a partner in his sacrificial offering. Then he ordered a piece from each camel, and it was put in a pot, and the two of them ate from its meat and drank from its broth." Muslim narrated it from the hadith of Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad. And we have narrated from Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq, from the Prophet ﷺ: "The best of Hajj is the ʿajj and the thajj." The ʿajj is the raising of their voices with the talbiyah, and the thajj is the pouring out of blood.
