أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو ذَرٍّ عَبْدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَرَوِيُّ، فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ، أَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْفَاسِي، أَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ السَّرَّاجُ، نا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سُفْيَانَ
يَقُولُ: كَانَ مِنْ دُعَاءِ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ: " اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ مِمَّا سَأَلْتُكَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ عُدْتُ فِيهِ، وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ مِمَّا جَعَلْتُهُ لَكَ عَلَى نَفْسِي ثُمَّ لَمْ أُوفِ لَكَ بِهِ، وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ مِمَّا زَعَمْتُ أَنِّي أَرَدْتُ فِيهِ وَجْهَكَ فَخَالَطَ قَلْبِي فِيهِ مَا قَدْ عَلِمْتَ "
