I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention al-Kifl seven times, and he said: "Al-Kifl was a man from the Children of Israel who used to commit acts of disobedience. He sought a woman for herself on the condition that he would give her sixty dinars. When he sat with her where a man sits with his wife, she wept. He said to her: What makes you weep? She said: This is something I have never done. He said: Then I have more right not to do it. Then he stood up and said: Take these sixty dinars, they are yours, and I will never disobey Allah again. He said: Then he died that night, and the people said: Al-Kifl has died. And it was written on his door: Indeed, Allah has forgiven al-Kifl."
