وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ، أَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ:
أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ: إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّ الْجَمَالَ حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّهُ فِي شِرَاكِ نَعْلِي أَوْ قَالَ: شِسْعِ نَعْلِي وَعَلَاقَةِ سَوْطِي فَهَلْ تَخْشَى عَلَيَّ الْكِبْرَ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " كَيْفَ تَجِدُ قَلْبَكَ؟ " قَالَ: عَارِفًا لِلْحَقِّ مُطْمَئِنًّا إِلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " لَيْسَ الْكِبْرُ هُنَالِكَ وَلَكِنَّ الْكِبْرَ أَنْ تَغْمِطَ النَّاسَ وَتَبْطَرَ الْحَقَّ "
