أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْبَلَاذُرِيُّ الْحَافِظُ، حدثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْعُمَرِيُّ، حدثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْجُنَيْدِ، حدثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْكُوفِيُّ، وَكَانَ مِنَ الْعُبَّادِ
قَالَ: لَقِيَنِي بُهْلُولٌ الْمَجْنُونُ فَقَالَ لِي: " أَسْأَلُكَ ". قَالَ: قُلْتُ: سَلْ، قَالَ: " أَيُّ شَيْءٍ السَّخَاءُ؟ " قُلْتُ: الْبَذْلُ وَالْعَطَاءُ، قَالَ: " هَذَا السَّخَاءُ فِي الدُّنْيَا، فَمَا السَّخَاءُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ؟ " قُلْتُ: الْمُسَارَعَةُ إِلَى طَاعَةِ السَّيِّدِ، قَالَ: " فَتُرِيدُ مِنْهُ الْجَزَاءَ؟ " قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ بِالْوَاحِدَةِ عَشَرَةٌ، قَالَ: " هَذَا فِي الدِّينِ قَبِيحٌ، وَلَكِنَّ الْمُسَارَعَةَ لِطَاعَةِ سَيِّدِي أَنْ لَا يَطَّلِعَ عَلَى قَلْبِكَ، وَأَنْتَ تُرِيدُ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا بِشَيْءٍ "
