The Prophet ﷺ said: "No one is given four things and then denied four things: No one is given gratitude and then denied increase, because Allah the Exalted says: {لَئِنْ شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ} [Ibrāhīm: 7]. And no one is given supplication and then denied response, because Allah says: {ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ} [Ghāfir: 60]. And no one is given seeking forgiveness and then denied forgiveness, because Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says: {اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفَّارًا} [Nūḥ: 10]. And no one is given repentance and then denied acceptance, because Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says: {وَهُوَ الَّذِي يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ} [al-Shūrā: 25]." Then I met Abū Ṣāliḥ and asked him about that. He said: Yes, I narrated it to him. So I asked Abū Ṣāliḥ about the hadith, and he narrated it to me. Then I said to him: Who narrated it to you? He said: Abū Zuhayr Yaḥyā b. ʿUṭārid b. Muṣʿab narrated to me, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: then he mentioned the hadith. I think it was Ibrāhīm b. al-Ḥusayn al-Kisāʾī who said that. "He narrated that with a connected chain, but it is not preserved (maḥfūẓ)."
