أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مَنْصُورٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الدَّامَغَانِيُّ نَزِيلُ بَيْهَقٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيٌّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ بِالْبَصْرَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الصَّلْتُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ أبي إِسْحَاقَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ الْخَصَاصِيَةِ،
قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، فَلَقِيتُهُ بِالْبَقِيعِ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: " السَّلَامُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الدِّيَارِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ " فَانْقَطَعَ شَسْعِي فَقَالَ لِي: " أَنَعْشُ قَدَمُكَ؟ ". قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ طَالَ عُزُوبَتِي، وَنَأَيْتُ عَنْ دَارِ قَوْمِي. فَقَالَ يَا بَشِيرُ: " أَلَا تَحْمَدِ اللهَ الَّذِي أَخَذَ بِنَاصِيَتِكَ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ مِنْ بَيْنِ رَبِيعَةَ قَوْمٍ يَرَوْنَ أَنَّ لَوْلَاهُمُ انْفَكَّتِ الْأَرْضُ بِمَنْ عَلَيْهَا "
