He said: "Jibrīl, peace be upon him, proceeded with Ibrāhīm, peace be upon him, and he prayed at Minā the Ẓuhr, the ʿAṣr, the Maghrib, the ʿIshāʾ and the Ṣubḥ. Then he set out with him in the morning from Minā to ʿArafah and prayed the two prayers with him, Ẓuhr and ʿAṣr. Then he made him stand there until the sun set. Then he moved on with him until he came to al-Muzdalifah, and he stopped there with him and spent the night. He prayed the Ṣubḥ as early as any of the Muslims prays, then he made him stand there as late as any of the Muslims would stay. Then he moved on with him to Minā, and he threw the pebbles, then he slaughtered. Then Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed to Muḥammad ﷺ: {ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ أَنِ اتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ} [al-Naḥl: 123]." "This is the preserved version, as a statement of a Companion (mawqūf)."
