أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، حدثنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ قَرِينٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الرَّبِيعَ بْنَ سُلَيْمَانَ،
يَقُولُ: " كَانَ الشَّافِعِيُّ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ قَدْ جَزَّأَ اللَّيْلَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَثْلَاثٍ: الثُّلُثُ الْأَوَّلُ يَكْتُبُ، وَالثُّلُثُ الثَّانِي يُصَلِّي، وَالثُّلُثُ الثَّالِثُ يَنَامُ "
