أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ مَرْيَمَ، امْرَأَةَ أبي عُثْمَانَ
تَقُولُ: " كُنَّا نُؤَخِّرُ اللَّعِبَ، وَالضَّحِكَ، وَالْحَدِيثَ إِلَى أَنْ يَدْخُلَ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ فِي وِرْدِهِ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ، فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا دَخَلَ بَيْتَ الْخِلْوَةِ لَا يُحِسُّ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْحَدِيثِ وَغَيْرِهِ "
