أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَنْشَدَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ النَّحْوِيُّ، أَنْشَدَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ الدَّارِمِيُّ بِأَنْطَاكِيَةَ لِنَفْسِهِ:
" [البحر السريع] يَا لَائِمَ الدَّهْرِ عَلَى مَا بِنَا... لَا تَلُمِ الدَّهْرَ عَلَى غَدْرِهِ فَالدَّهْرُ مَأْمُورٌ لَهُ آمِرٌ... يَنْصَرِفُ الدَّهْرُ إِلَى أَمْرِهِ كَمْ كَافِرٍ بِاللهِ أَمْوَالُهُ... تَزْدَادُ أَضْعَافًا عَلَى كُفْرِهِ ومُؤْمِنٌ لَيْسَ لَهُ دَانَقٌ... يَزْدَادُ إِيمَانًا عَلَى فَقْرِهِ لَا خَيْرَ فِيمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ عَاقِلًا... يَبْسُطُ رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى قَدَرِهِ"
