أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، حدثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَالَوَيْهِ، حدثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرِ بْنِ مَطَرٍ، حدثنا نَصْرُ بْنُ حَرِيشٍ الصَّامِتُ إِمْلَاءً مِنْ كِتَابِهِ، حدثنا الْمُشْمَعِلُّ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مِلْحَانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ،
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ ؓ: " يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ سَمِعْتُكَ الْبَارِحَةَ وَأَنْتَ تُصَلِّي، وَأَنْتَ تُخَافِتُ بِقِرَائَتِكَ " قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَدْ سَمَّعْتُ مَنْ نَاجَيْتُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لِعُمَرَ: " وَسَمِعْتُكَ يَا عُمَرُ تَجْهَرُ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ " فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أُطَارِدُ الشَّيْطَانَ وَأُوقِظُ الْوَسْنَانَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " يَا بِلَالُ وَسَمِعْتُكَ الْبَارِحَةَ وَأَنْتَ تُصَلِّي، تَقْرَأُ مِنْ هَذِهِ السُّورَةِ وَمِنْ هَذِهِ السُّورَةِ " فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كَلَامُ اللهِ بَعْضُهُ إِلَى بَعْضٍ فَكُنْتُ أَقْرَأُ مِنْ هَذِهِ السُّورَةِ وَمِنْ هَذِهِ السُّورَةِ، قَالَ: " كُلُّكُمْ قَدْ أَصَابَ "

He said: "Yes, O Messenger of God, it is the speech of God, part of it joined to part, so I was reciting from this sūrah and from that sūrah." He said: "Each of you has done right."
