Machine translation, not reviewed

He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave counsel to some of his Companions, saying: "I counsel you to have fear of Allah (taqwā) and to hold to the Qur'an, for it is a light in the darkness and a guidance by day. So recite it whatever hardship and poverty you may be in. If a trial befalls you, then put your wealth before your religion; and if the trial goes beyond that, then put your wealth and your blood before your religion. For the one plundered is he whose religion has been plundered, and the deprived is he who has been deprived of his religion. Beware: there is no poverty after Paradise, and no wealth after the Fire. The poor of the Fire will never be enriched, and its captive will never be freed." "This ʿAbd al-Quddūs b. Ḥabīb al-Shāmī is weak at times, and he made a mistake in the chain of this text, if he did not go beyond it. And Allah knows best."
