يَقُولُ: " كَمْ مِنْ جَاهِلٍ أَدْرَكَهُ الْعِلْمُ فأَنقَذَهُ، وَكَمْ مِنْ نَاسِكٍ عَمِلَ عَمَلَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَأَوْبقَهُ، احْضُرِ الْعِلْمَ وَإِنْ لَمْ تحْضُرْكَ النِّيَّةُ، فَإِنَّمَا تطْلَبُ بِالْعِلْمِ النِّيَّةُ، وَإِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا يَظْهَرُ مِنْ وَرَعِ الْعَبْدِ لِسَانُهُ، وَأَوَّلَ مَا يَظْهَرُ مِنْ عَقْلِهِ حِلْمُهُ "
