حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ

أَهْدَى دِحْيَةُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ خُفَّيْنِ فَلَبِسَهُمَا

Translation

"Dihya [a notable Companion of his] gave the Prophet ﷺ a pair of plain black shoes, so he wore them,"— and Isra’il said, on the authority of Jabir, on the authority of 'Amir: "[He also gave him] a gown, so he wore the shoes until they were perforated, without the Prophet ﷺ knowing whether or not they were made from the hide of a lawfully slaughtered animal.”
